Our Troy customer is seeking 2 experienced Chassis Application Engineers; both on a direct hire basis at a open salary range do not exceed $95k. Must have a BSME (required), good with working with customers, dealing with different personalities, and handling issues/problems and objections. Must have experience with Chassis components.


Job Description

• Primary engineering customer contact, project leader responsible for delivering projects within quality, timing and cost (QTC) requirements.
• Define concept and product base data to fit customer application, jointly with product development engineer and product design engineer/product designer
• Initiate and conduct System – Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (S-FMEA) with customer engineers
• Coordinate internal and customer Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) to assure all risks are addressed
• Sign off the internal DVP&R together with the Product Development Engineer
• Review Return Parts Analysis (RPA) for performance/issues, initiate and conduct root cause analysis if necessary – jointly with product development engineer and quality functions
• Define specification (SOR, product performance requirements) through customer interaction
• Ensure execution of project while meeting QTC targets
• Engineering contact to the customer
• Explore new opportunities at the customer, win new business
• Assure proper definition of components to assure fit and function in customer system, this includes assembly at customer plant, vehicle use and repair/service
• Release customer drawings (EDC-engineering drawings customer) for samples and production

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
• Ability to manage projects
• Good command of engineering principles – materials, design, dynamics, structures, manufacturing
• Good understanding of financial principles
• Good communication and organizational skills
• This position requires up to 20% travel including local, domestic and international
